CAFFREY (no, he didn't attend, LOL) * * * * * * * * * *
We know a lot of fans out there are Stephen Caffrey fans, so we asked
the guys a little about Stephen...
Sheila: I heard the guys mention Stephen Caffrey - I heard
them say how funny he was, how he made them laugh.
Mel: Before you all showed up, when I was talking with the
guys by myself, I did mention to Eric that I'd seen Stephen the previous
weekend in a play, and that he'd been doing a lot of theatre. Eric said
he hadn't seen Steve in a long time. I replied that he seemed to love
doing theatre, and was wonderful onstage. Then Eric admitted he'd never
done a play, and that he should think about doing one.
Erika: Steve recounted a time when he was in New York City,
and he and Stephen went out and had a great time. He kept laughing and
saying what a great time they had, how Stephen was a lot of fun to be
with.
Sheila: Did I hear Josh (or Steve?) say that he stayed with
Stephen in New York. They ended up at a party somewhere.
Pen: I do remember Josh talking about S. Caffrey as Sheila
mentioned. He said he's a great guy, very talented actor, and would like
to see him in his current play.
Erika: When someone asked Joshua if Stephen Caffrey had
considered or would consider attending a convention, before Josh could
reply, one of us said, "He doesn't like the publicity?" and
Josh rushed to say, "Oh no--he likes the publicity!" Josh's
eyes got really big and he nodded emphatically, and there was a faint
smile on his face when he said that. I thought it was amusing.
I also remember, when Josh was talking about how he had read for the
part of Lt. Goldman, Joshua praised Stephen's acting, and I think he
said Stephen was a funny guy and that he brought that part of himself
into the portrayal of Goldman. Joshua also said he really wished he had
that gift for comedy, that he would love to be able to do it as well as
Stephen does.
Well, that's it for the prelim report. We had a fantastic time and we
really think Terry, Josh, Steve, and Eric did, too.
Sheila: They all said how much THEY enjoyed meeting US. They
couldn't seem to believe our deep interest in the show. Knowing lines
and quotes from it better than them in some cases.
Erika: And they seemed really happy to see each other again.
Sometimes while we were there, we'd be off talking amongst ourselves,
and when we looked over, we'd see the guys standing around chatting and
laughing with each other. We would hang back and wait for them to be
ready for us again. LOL They were having as much fun with each other as
we were with each other!
Sheila: They all seemed to like the idea of a reunion movie.
And they couldn't believe how far Lindy and I had travelled for the
sole reason of meeting them, and even more amazed that there were plenty
more back home that wanted to be there. I did tell them that not many
people could arrange the trip at such short notice and it could also be
a matter of expense. Who knows, maybe they'll considering doing a few
worldwide get together's and arranging something well in advance.
Erika: One more tidbit:
When Joshua left on Saturday after posting his message to HUM90, he
gave us all a chaste kiss on the cheek (except for Kaj--I think they
just shook hands, LOL). Then he turned to Steve Akahoshi, and you could
tell they enjoyed having caught up with each other. They gave each other
a big hug.
And we all went, "Awwww...."
